Telangana & JAC News Updates - 29/12/2009

The demand for seperate Telangana is getting louder with each passing day as more individuals joining the agitation. Joint Action Committee gained more power as Telugu Desam Party - TDP also joined JAC . All the rebel leaders of TRS are realising their mistake and are try harder to make place in TRS again by convincing KCR. A Bandh in whole region of Telangana has been called for on 30 th december 2009. Agitation will pick up pace after the new year as many people will face incovinience in celebrating and partying

Hot Spot of telangana agitation currently is the osmania university campus which as been surrounded by huge numbers of police personels in order to retain the students inside the campus. Huge number of students are on hunger strike inside the campus in support of telangana. People who are part of Anti telangana forum have gone into hiding and are avoiding any comments . JAC have also called for Vidyarthi Garjanna meaning ROAR OF STUDENTS in the first week of January where more than 5 lakh students from the entire telangana region are expected to come to Hyderabad.

Even IT professionals , lawyers , doctors , government employees and many other association have joined the telangana agitation and requested government to announce the decision on their stand.

In between this telangana agitation , N D Tiwari has resigned from the post of governer stating helath reasons but actual reason seems to be the alleged sex scandal video aired by Andhra Jyothi channel on tv .

Many people are complaining that many national media , few regional channels and few newspapers are not presenting the actual cause and starting point of the agitation and critising this movement as most of the reporters and owners of many media agencies are from Andhra region . As result KCR announced that new Telangana News Channel will be launched in the month of January 2010.

Telangana Ministers Resign

Telangana movement gained momentum and doesn't seems to go back unless clear time frame for the initiation of formation of Telangana state announced by the government of India. Leaders , students , lawyers , unions almost all peoples group from Telangana region is supporting the formation of Telangana.

Stand maintained by government of India is that a consensus to be reached but the sounds weird as the political leaders from Andhra will never agree to the formation of Telangana. So government should think about the people of Telangana and discrimination that was done to people from this region.

All Telangana leaders from Congress and TRS including KCR gave resignation and formed a Joint Action Committee also known as JAC . These leaders have clearly stated that unless the time frame is announced , this movement cannot be stopped . Lending support to the Telangana movement, workers of Singareni Colleries abstained from their duties. Most of the exams at Osmania University has been postponed till further notice. Citizens of Telangana are planning for non co operation movement to attain statehood for Telangana state.

Another issue boiling up is the case of ND Tiwari - governor of the state , he is accused by andhra jyothi news channel of involvement in a sex scandal and this channel aired the video footage on ABN channel. Many women groups staged dharna infront of raj bhavan but ND tiwari claimed this video as false and doctored and denied any involvement. Congress high command is looking into this matter and is expected to take a decision with regard to this sex scandal by the end of the day.

Currently Telangana Bandh was given a break primarily due to Christmas and Moharram festivities at Hyderabad and to avoid inconvenience to the public.Watch this space for more updates from Telangana region.

KCR shifted to ICU ward of Hyderabad's NIMS hospital.
Thousands students and TRS workers gathered outside NIMS hospital.
Hyderabad's Ameerpet, Panjagutta , Somajiguda and surrounding area shops attacked and closed. Largely damaged shops were RS brothers, Big Bazar, Hyderabad Central and few other shops.
Section 144 imposed to control the situation.
All political parties except Congress gave clear assurance for formation of Telangana state.
TRS calls for 48 hours bandh starting tonight.
All regional telugu channels like TV9, NTV, HMTV, Inews, ETV giving each and every updates to the people of Telangana.
OU and kakatiya university students increases the intensity of the agitation.
National media channels like IBN Live , NDTV , TIMES NOW, STAR NEWS are not focusing on the news from south Indian news as usual.
All shops in Abids , kothi and basheerbagh closed fearing attacks.
Huge lines were witnessed across petrol pumps prior to bandh.

TELANGANA on Boil - History Repeats

Telangana Rashtra Samiti -TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao - KCR was arrested on Sunday Telangana's Karimnagar district as he was heading to Medak district to launch a fast unto death demanding separate statehood for Telangana region.

K Chandrasekhara Rao was going to Siddipet town in Medak, which is about 100 km from Hyderabad where he was taken into custody. The Mahabubnagar MP had vowed a fight to the finish by sitting on a fast unto death from 1100 hrs on sunday morning near the Martyrs Memorial at Siddipet.Tension prevailed in Karimnagar district after his arrest as TRS workers came out onto the streets and damaged buses.

In Siddipet, TRS legislator Harish Rao launched a fast unto death after hearing about the arrest of the party chief.Esteemed unversity Osmania university also witnessed massive protests after the arrest of KCR , RAF was to called to controlled the students of osmania university campus. Only one voice was heard from the closed gates of Osmania University - JAI TELANGANA. Many students were injured in the clashes with police, which was observed by people of telangana on all popular telugu channels like Sakshi , TV9 , TV5, INews , HMTV and others .

Telangana Leaders across various parties also supported KCR so that they don't face any backlash from people of Telangana. Leaders of TRS are asking leaders across parties to take up the cause of separate telangana . Even many NRI's are also fully supporting this move taken by KCR. Rebel leaders who earlier were planning to abandon TRS are trying hard to get back in the sailing ship.

Telangana over many past years has very slow growth when compared to other regions of Andhra Pradesh , which provoked the formation of TRS party and rival of the demand for separate statehood.

Entire Telangana region including Hyderabad will remain closed on 30 November on account of Bandh called by people of TRS party which is supported by all political leaders from Telangana.

Floods @ Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka

Andhra Pradesh and its surrounding states like karnataka recieved is recieving heavy rainfall since 2 days . Thereby resulting in floods in districts like Kurnool , Mahboobnagar and surrounding cities.The flood situation in the region remained grim as water continued to overflow from Srisailam Dam and heavy inflows from Karnataka still continued. All the gates where opened and water is still gushing out strongly. Even Nagarjuna Sagars all water gates have been opened and concerned authorities are monitoring the situation closely.

Nearly three lakh people had been evacuated from the five flood-affected districts of Kurnool, Mehbubnagar, Guntur, Krishna and Nalgonda, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah from Hyderabad. Helicopters from the Air Force and other agencies dropped packets of food, drinking water, milk and bread to the people still stranded in several villages on top of their houses.The National Highway Number 7 between Hyderabad and Kurnool remained cut off as water from river Krishna overflowed at the Beechupally bridge and hundreds of vehicles remained stranded. The buses and trains which pass through Mehboobnagar and Kurnool were also disrupted.

Strangely in spite of such massive destruction across Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka , the so called national news channel only focus on news from mumbai , delhi and northern region. It was the time when national news channels should have focused to provide the information to the relatives who are eager to get news from these places of Andhra pradesh. Luckily there are many regional channels which are covering these floods situation properly.

Even continuous rains are witnesses in the city of Hyderabad and Telangana region, people are advised not to venture out in rains unless its mandatory. Many trains from travelling through these places has been cancelled or postponed as tracks have been washed away in few places. Prakasham barrage is also said to above the danger mark .

GATE 2010 Details

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati announced that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2010 will be conducted on February 7, 2010. Admission to post graduate courses (Masters and Doctors) in India with MHRD and some other Government Scholarships/ Assistantships in engineering/ technology/ architecture/ pharmacy/ science is open to those who qualify in GATE.

Candidates may apply for GATE 2010 either offline or through online procedure . For General/ OBC category candidates the application fee is Rs 1000 for offline and Rs 800 online. For SC/ST/PD category candidates, the fee is Rs 500 for offline and Rs 400 online.

Important change made to GATE 2010 is that it will be VALID for only 1 YEAR. The GATE 2010 scorecard will consist of actual marks obtained by the candidate, the GATE Score, Percentile Score and All India Rank (AIR). Scorecard will be sent only to the qualified candidates. No information will be sent to candidates who are not qualified. Major change is that GATE 2010 exam will be ONLINE and OFFLINE based on city and branch.

Eligibility for GATE 2010:

Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

Indian Judiciary

Indian judiciary has not been very well appreciated across the world , politicians needs to do some thing so that the image of indian judiciary is cleansed and people start believing the judiciary system.

Few things which needs to be done with high priority are as follows:

According to some reports many positions for judges are still unfilled , they need to be filled as soon as possible.
Educate the people with regard tothe indian judiciary system.
Strengthen the law and order , so that people will be scared to take law in their hand.
Increase the quantum of punishment for serious crimes.
Make anti corruption bureau more vigilant and give them extended rights.
Set deadlines for each case to be resolved by the judges.
Make judges and prosecutors accountable.
Increase the usage of science and technology to more extend.
Discourage out of court settlement where victim may do so as a result of pressure tactics.
Reduce the number of holidays and vacations for judges and make it same as that of other government officials.
In case of land dealings , make it mandatory to give a nominee to the land who will inherit after his death and any change in will needs to be registered in person.
Moral Science should be a compulsory subject for all school kids, which shows them whats correct and whats incorrect.

AP CM YSR GOES MISSING

Andhra pradesh chief minister went missing since 09:35 am , he was travelling in a helicopter along with 5 more people. The Chief Minister Dr. YSR took off at 8.30 am from Hyderabad and headed to Chittoor for an official function and was scheduled to land at 10.45 am. It has been raining very heavily in Andhra Pradesh since few days. All the people from andhra pradesh are glued to local telugu news channels like TV9 , sakshi, TV5, ETV and national news channels like NDTV , IBN and others. Rajshekhar reddy according to unconfirmed reports is missing in dense forests of chitoor and areas of nallamala forest. Army helicopters and jets have rushed in to carry on the rescue operations through out night. People have started gathering outside secreteriat to get some news about YSR.

According to the latest media reports, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy is still untraceable as on 22:55 IST.

Prime minister Manmohan Singh has expressed concern over missing helicopter and is closing watching the updates. Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister K Rosaiah said that there has been no information of the Bell 430 helicopter having landed anywhere in the forests while addressing a press conference in Hyderabad some time back.

Heavy Rains @ Hyderabad

30 August 2009 was bright sunny day and every one as usual was complaining of lack of rains . But to much of every ones suprise by midnight things started to change and cool breeze started flowing. Every one was glad that atleast temperature will cool down and none anticipated rains.

At 00:45 , 31 August 2009 it started raining heavily which none expected by 01:00 it was evident that its going to be a heavy downpour. When I peeped out of the window nothing was visible outside except the rain and the foggy view. Every one was glad that fianlly its raining heavily but my happiness was short lived and with lighting thunder electricity supply was gone and most parts of the Hyderabad was in darkness. This is nothing new even slight rain leads to power outage in Hyderabad.

Temperature inside my room was quite hot and then i decided open my windows , well this idea backfired and mosquioes started tormenting us. I was left with no other option to bear the heat inside well packed house and viewing the heavy downpour from windows.

Around three i decide i cant bear this heat any more , so decided to call the Andhra pradesh electricity complaint number 155333 , but all efforts to get in touch with electricity officials were in vain and phone repeated the pre recorded message " all lines you were trying to reach are curently , try after some time ". I tried calling desperately to the electricity department so many times but never recieved any response.

Then I tried sleeping in my room along with buzzing music of mosquitoes with no success. To add to my anger, APGenco switched on one phase in my lane was switched on but i wasn't so lucky enough. I was turning sides till 5 am then finally lights glowed in my room. By this time i was no longer sleepy, so decided to switch on television and by this time all local news channels were flashing news of heavy downpour across telangana region and Hyderabad too . More over one person lost life near Chaderghat near malakpet region, this was the first heavy downpur since monsoon season. Finally after short sleep i woke up around 9 am , even though my alarm was for 7 am :) . Quickly took bath and got ready for office and peeped out of the window and was glad that it was not raining so decided not to waste time in Hyderabad's worst traffic conditions and switch to bike today instead of car.

Well i was half way struggling traffic and pot holes in the busy roads towards Gachibowli , it started raining again :( . I got completely drenched by the time i reached office .Well you might be thinking finally my longgg sequence of events are done. Well NO :) . Now that i have reached office after being drenched with air conditioner switched on imagine whats my condition .

H1N1 is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. It is commonly known as Swine Flue. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009.This virus is spreading from person-to-person, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread. It has already started spreading in India in cities like Chennai , Pune , Hyderabad and Delhi. Pune has been hardly hit in India . Commonly used medicine for H1N1 is tamiflu , which is not to be sold at local chemists.

What are symptoms of H1N1 ?
The symptoms of swine flu are broadly the same as those of ordinary flu, but may be more severe and cause more serious complications. The typical symptoms are sudden fever (a high body temperature of 38C/100.4F or above), and sudden cough.

Other symptoms may include:

Headache
Tiredness
Chills
Aching muscles
Limb or joint painupset
Sore throat
Diarrhoea
Runny nose
Sneezing
Loss of appetite.

Most people who have contracted swine flu recover within a week and do not suffer complications, even without being given antiviral medication. However, experts point out that as this is a new virus, its behavior cannot be predicted with certainty.

Why this new H1N1 virus is sometimes called "swine flu"?

This virus was originally referred to as "swine flu" because laboratory testing showed that many of the genes in this new virus were very similar to influenza viruses that normally occur in pigs in North America. But further study has shown that this new virus is very different from what normally circulates in North American pigs. It has two genes from flu viruses that normally circulate in pigs in Europe and Asia and avian genes and human genes. Scientists call this a "quadruple reassortant" virus.

Testing for H1N1 Flu or H5N1 Flu in Humans?

Tests for flu in humans that can quickly and accurately diagnosis new flu strains can be an important tool to reduce human exposure to emerging influenza viruses. Such tests represent major steps toward protecting the public from the threat of pandemic flu. Speedy and accurate diagnosis for the new H1N1 flu (swine flu) in humans is essential to early treatment. The Food and Drug Administration has authorized emergency use of a rapid test for swine flu in humans. Currently only government hospitals are treating swine flu patients in India.

Safety Tips:

Follow the same actions that you take to prevent any flu — stay healthy yourself and avoid the germs and viruses spread by people who are sick with the flu.
Take common-sense steps to limit the spread of germs. Make good hygiene a habit.

Wash hands frequently with soap and water, preferrably with luke warm water.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
Put used tissues in a wastebasket.
Cough or Sneeze into your upper sleeve if you don't have a tissue.
Clean your hands after coughing or sneezingor wiping your nose.
Use soap and water or an alcohol-based hand cleaner.
Stay at home if you are sick. Restrict physical contact with people at home to avoid spreading the Flu.
It is always a good idea to practice good health habits.
Eat a balanced diet.
Be sure to eat a variety of foods, including plenty of vegetables, fruits, and whole grain products. Also include low-fat dairy products, lean meats, poultry, fish, and beans.
Drink lots of water and go easy on salt, sugar, alcohol, and saturated fat.
Exercise on a regular basis and get plenty of rest.

Using Face Masks or respirators to protect from Swine flu:

Avoid close contact (less than about 6 feet away) with the sick person to the maximum extent.
If you must have close contact with the sick person (for example, hold a sick infant), spend the least amount of time possible in close contact and try to wear a facemask for surgical mask or N95 disposable respirator.
An N95 respirator that fits snugly on your face can filter out small particles that can be inhaled around the edges of a facemask, but compared with a facemask it is harder to breathe through an N95 mask for long periods of time.
Facemasks and respirators may be purchased at a pharmacy.
Wear an N95 respirator if you help a sick person with respiratory treatments using a nebulizer or inhaler, as directed by their doctor.
Respiratory treatments should be performed in a separate room away from common areas of the house when at all possible. Used facemasks and N95 respirators should be taken off and placed immediately in the regular trash so they don’t touch anything else.
Avoid re-using disposable facemasks and N95 respirators, if possible.
If a reusable fabric facemask is used, it should be laundered with normal laundry detergent and tumble-dried in a hot dryer. After you take off a facemask or N95 respirator, clean your hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

Golconda Fort , Hyderabad

Another Famous historical and tourist spot apart from Charminar is the Golconda Fort , situated on the outskirts of Hyderabad. It is around 10 kms away from the center of the Hyderbad city. It can be reached by RTC buses , autos or prepaid cabs . It is open till 18:30 IST for visitors for entire year.

Golconda was the capital of Qutub Shahi Kingdom , constructed on top of a granite hill. Golconda was well guarded from enemies by a 10 km long walk constructed around the fort. At Fateh Darwaza meaning Victory Gate fantastic acoustic effects can be observed, this was the same gate throught which the victorious army used to return to the palace. Other place worth seeing inside the fort is the Bala Hissar where a single clap echo can be heard till a kilometer away, which acted as warning alarm for royal guards. Also worth seeing are hundreds of stairs build completely out of granite.Golconda Fort is believed that there is a secret underground tunnel which leads from the 'Durbar Hall' and ends in one of the palaces at the foot of the hill.

But the question is was this fuel price increase necessary by the government of India when the sales taxes could have been reduced to save the common man from extra burden. Every indivual will say NO to fuel price increase except the goverment officials . Indian government should work out plan and get the cheap fuel from Iran as early as possible to reduce the fuel prices. Moreover the commercialization of natural resources from our seas should be banned and government should take over the resources and provide it at actual price .

Cost of local transportation will go up.
Price of all the basics commodities will touch the roof.
Rise in inflation.
Discouraging people to setup new bussiness as the transportation costs will go up.
Costlier electricty from generators in case of power failures.

Sania Mirza Engagement

Sania Mirza got engaged to Mohammed Sohrab on 10th July 2009 at private ceremony at Taj Krishna Hotel located at Banjara Hills , which is near to her house as well.Ceremony was conducted amid tight security after few youth tried to barge into the residence of Sania Mirza few days prior to her engagement.

Hyderabadi girl and tennis sensation Sania Mirza looked stunning in a specially-created green and gold outfit. Sohrab was seen in Black Armani with a green colored tie complimenting Sania's dress. He presented Sania a Rs 10 lakh 2-carat diamond solitaire ring at the ceremony, marked by Hyderabadi Muslim tradition and a touch of Deccan and Iranian culture as the Sohrab's family hails from Iran and are the owners of the Universal Bakery. Sania Mirza accompanied by her parents Imran Mirza and Naseema Mirza and younger sister Anam, the tennis sensation reached Taj Krishna around 6 p.m.

Dinner had hyderabadi and Iranian delicacies to compliment guest from both sides. About 50 policemen were posted around the hotel and even mediapersons were not allowed into the hotel. Dozens of photographers and camera persons of various regional and national television channels were standing at the gates and thereby resulting in traffic jam outside the crowded Banjara Hills junction. Sohrab's family gifted Sania 11 outfits of different styles, designed by various designers, Sania's family presented six outfits and a diamond watch to their would-be son-in-law.

Indian Budget 2009

Union budget 2009 was presented by Pranab Mukherjee in the parliament house. Main thing which all the salaried class people where looking was the increase in the base of the tax exemption.

Earlier salary above 1,50,000 for was made to pay a 10% tax per annum and girls / ladies where suppossed to pay above 1,80,000 per annum .

This has been revised by 10,000 rupess per annum, now we need to pay 10% tax for salary above 1,60,000 per annum and for girls / ladies its above 1,90,000 rupees per annum.

Thereby individual tax payers will save only 1000 rupees more per annum.

Apart from these LCD television , mobiles and life saving drugs will also be cheaper marginally.

Hyderabad : Traffic Issues

Hyderabad is the fifth metro city of India , basically famous for its rich heritage and IT boom. Lately due to vast development and other factors , traffic condition has changed from bad to worst . Each individual creates his own traffic rules these days . Unless Hyderabad traffic police cracks the whip strongly things won't change .

Seven seater auto's stop on the middle of the road or on the bus stops.
All hotels and cafe's have zero parking space or very less than what is required.

Bus stop is very close to the traffic signals and turnings, needs to be relocated.

Safe Banking Tips

Money is the most important thing apart from the things like love, respect and other proverbial things. More the importance more the risk associated with, to avoid risks people keep their income in the banks. Well but while banking few things needs to be kept in mind for safe and hassle free banking.

Avoid dealing private banks.
Make sure the bank is nationalized like State Bank Of Hyderabad .
Always complete the transactions in between 1st to 10th of every month, as banks in India calculate interest taking average monthly basis.
Never keep the entire amount with a single bank, spread across various banks.
Issue account payee cheques only to the maximum extent possible.
Make sure you strike the bearer letters written on the corner of the cheque.
When transferring amount from one account to the other, do it using the cheque rather than carrying cash physically.
Retain the receipt of the money deposited until it’s reflected in your account.
Make sure that you specify the nominee for your account.
Never disclose your bank details to the strangers.
Periodically check your account balance.
If you don’t need funds for a period more 60 days , it is always advisable to convert it into a fixed deposit.
If you are not sure of the period for fixed deposit then you can go for sweep in accounts.
Make sure you submit your PAN card number well in advance if your annual interest is more than 10,000 rupees.
If you are a senior citizen or if you already have paid tax and tax should not be levied then you can claim for reversal of TDS.
If you can go to home branch , avoid inter banking and inter branch transactions .
Never keep ATM pin number with your ATM card.
Make sure nobody is along with you when you enter ATM pin.
Most banks offer per day withdrawal limit , keep it minimum to avoid huge losses in case of theft.
Most basic point , never sign a blank cheque and never access your bank account online in non secure environments.

India :IIT JEE Results 2009

The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-2009) for admissions to undergraduate courses in the 15IITs, IT-BHU and ISMU Dhanbad will be declared today . More than 3 lakh candidates appeared in JEE-2009 which was conducted by 7 of the IITs on April 12, 2009. Out of them ten thousand candidates have been declared qualified to seek admission for 8295 seats in the Indian IITs at Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi (H.P.), Patna, Punjab, Rajasthan and Roorkee, IT-BHU Varanasi and ISMU Dhanbad. The number of candidates who appeared in JEE-2009 is nearly 24% more than that in the previous year. Nitin Jain who appeared in JEE from IIT Delhi Zone topped this year’s All India list of successful candidates.

IPL 2 Winners : Deccan Chargers - Hyderabad

Hyderabad's Deccan Chargers owned by Deccan Chronicle newspaper group staged a remarkable fightback to upstage Royal Challengers Bangalore owned by Vijay Mallya by six runs in a nail-biting final and win the second edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2) at Johannesburg on 25th may 2009 , sunday. Both the teams from southern Indian displayed superb performance but deccan chargers held their nerves and won the trophy.

Adam Gilchrist and his never-say-die Deccan Chargers teammates pipped Royal Challengers Bangalore to a modest 6 runs win, Bangalore could only score mere 139 for 9 in their quota of 20 overs. Pragyan Ojha was Hyderabad's most successful bowler, with figures of three for 28.Indeed bowlers of Deccan Chargers gave a superb performance despite Gilchrist failing to score in the final match.Symond must also be appreciated for all the talking he did during the match.Lets Hope on the lines of IPL 2 Final match victory Hyderabad will soon over take Bangalore in the IT sector too ..... lol .

It can also be accrued to fate that the two teams that occupied the bottom of the table in the inaugural edition contested the final this year. Both, along with Delhi Daredevils , qualify for the inaugural Champions League T20, to be held in India in October. Hyderabad's triumph meant that for the second year running an Australian captain lifted the coveted trophy.

Bangalore's defeat also meant it was a day of double despair for their owner, Vijay Mallya . His F1 team, Force India, had earlier in the day at the Monaco Grand Prix failed to secure their maiden points in Formula One after coming desperately close -- Italian Giancarlo Fisichella finishing ninth. Other major dissappointment was Knight Riders from Kolkatta , Shahrukh khans (SRK) team which ended last in the points table. Mumbai had fair chance but due to injury of Zaheer Khan impacted them a lot and they could not recover. Other main controversy was the fake IPL blog which attracted lot readers as well as the media to it .

Earlier, a superb spell of bowling by Anil Kumble (4-0-16-4) helped Bangalore restrict the Chargers to a paltry 143 for 6. But no other bowler could do the trick as the legend kumble did. Herschelle Gibbs scored a superlative 53 not out off 48 balls (3x4, 2x6) to keep the Hyderabad challenge alive. The South African combined aggression with caution to good effect to anchor the team's innings to perfection after the early dismissal of Adam Gilchrist for zero. Owners of Deccan Chargers - Ram Reddy and others and the all the people from Hyderabad were too excited and were found celebrating on the roads and burning crackers. Lali Modi , commissioner of IPL 2 handed over the trophy to Adam Gilchrist and the entire team.

Three teams from the southern india were in the top four of this IPL season and delhi being from the north india.
