Telangana Ministers Resign

Telangana movement gained momentum and doesn't seems to go back unless clear time frame for the initiation of formation of Telangana state announced by the government of India. Leaders , students , lawyers , unions almost all peoples group from Telangana region is supporting the formation of Telangana.

Stand maintained by government of India is that a consensus to be reached but the sounds weird as the political leaders from Andhra will never agree to the formation of Telangana. So government should think about the people of Telangana and discrimination that was done to people from this region.

All Telangana leaders from Congress and TRS including KCR gave resignation and formed a Joint Action Committee also known as JAC . These leaders have clearly stated that unless the time frame is announced , this movement cannot be stopped . Lending support to the Telangana movement, workers of Singareni Colleries abstained from their duties. Most of the exams at Osmania University has been postponed till further notice. Citizens of Telangana are planning for non co operation movement to attain statehood for Telangana state.

Another issue boiling up is the case of ND Tiwari - governor of the state , he is accused by andhra jyothi news channel of involvement in a sex scandal and this channel aired the video footage on ABN channel. Many women groups staged dharna infront of raj bhavan but ND tiwari claimed this video as false and doctored and denied any involvement. Congress high command is looking into this matter and is expected to take a decision with regard to this sex scandal by the end of the day.

Currently Telangana Bandh was given a break primarily due to Christmas and Moharram festivities at Hyderabad and to avoid inconvenience to the public.Watch this space for more updates from Telangana region.

GATE 2010 Details

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati announced that the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2010 will be conducted on February 7, 2010. Admission to post graduate courses (Masters and Doctors) in India with MHRD and some other Government Scholarships/ Assistantships in engineering/ technology/ architecture/ pharmacy/ science is open to those who qualify in GATE.

Candidates may apply for GATE 2010 either offline or through online procedure . For General/ OBC category candidates the application fee is Rs 1000 for offline and Rs 800 online. For SC/ST/PD category candidates, the fee is Rs 500 for offline and Rs 400 online.


Important change made to GATE 2010 is that it will be VALID for only 1 YEAR. The GATE 2010 scorecard will consist of actual marks obtained by the candidate, the GATE Score, Percentile Score and All India Rank (AIR). Scorecard will be sent only to the qualified candidates. No information will be sent to candidates who are not qualified. Major change is that GATE 2010 exam will be ONLINE and OFFLINE based on city and branch.


Eligibility for GATE 2010:

• Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UPSC/AICTE as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.
  
• Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master's degree programme in Engineering/Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master's degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/Technology.
  
• Master's degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.
  
• Bachelor's degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

ICICI Bank Bankrupt - Rumour or Truth ????

ICICI Bank is India's second-largest bank with total assets of Rs. 3,997.95 billion as on March 31, 2008 and profit after tax of Rs. 41.58 billion for the year ended March 31, 2008. Every thing was going great for ICICI bank untill the news of LEHMAN Brothers broke out . At this point of time things started to change for ICICI bank . People started feeling insecure about this bank and rumours started making rounds of ICICI going to be declared bankrupt . To add fuel to this fire people started speculating that the country's second largest bank had been adversely impacted by the stock market crash this week. By 29 th September 2008 news spread across INDIA like a wild fire . Almost all ATM's across INDIA had people waiting in queues to withdraw money , long queues where even found at 3 am in the morning at hyderabad. Moreover people also complained that they were unable to withdraw cash from other private banks using ICICI bank debit or credit cards. Also they were complains of unable to process online transactions . Unconfirmed news states that around 300 crores rupess has been withdrawn after the spread of this news . Despite repeated advertisements on local radio confirming the sound financial health of the bank, depositors could not be comforted.


As a result of current banking sector scenario people are switching back to nationlised public sector bank such as State Bank of India and State Bank of Hyderabad.

Finally RBI has come up with clarification on ICICI bank financial position and assured the customer that they need not panic .
