Tips & Tricks for Eamcet 2009:

1. Make sure you solve previous model papers.
2. Avoid memorizing answers.
3. Focus on Mathematics more compared to other subjects.
4. Attempt physics after maths and chemistry.
5. If you are not able to solve any quesiton leave and go to next question.
6. Do not leave any quesiton unattempted since there is no negative marking.
7. If you are not able to solve any question , go by elimination method from options. Try figuring out which options cant be the answer then choose from the remaining options.

CAT 2008 Results Announced

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all-India test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam for the management programmes of its seven business schools.

The results of CAT 2008 will be available from January 9th 2009 on the cat website. The scores can be accessed by keying in the test registration number and either the date of birth (preferred) or the cat application number.


CAT RESULTS by E-MAIL: Candidates who wish to get their results by e-mail should register themselves between October 24, 2008 and November 30, 2008 by sending an SMS to 57333 as follows: ?CAT registration number date of birth (ddmmyy) email id? Please note that only one e-mail id will be registered against a test registration number. AIEEE 2009 Exam / Applying Details @ Hyderabad

AIEEE acronym stands for All India Engineering / Architecture Entrance Examination which is conducted by central board of secondary education, India . All the students opting for degree courses in Engineering and architecture would be required to undertake this test .

Current Fuel Price @ Hyderabad : 6 th December 2008

The government of India has decided to reduce the prices of pertrol and diesel effective from midnight of 6 th december 2008 . However the price of international of one barrel of petrol has dropped from 150 dollars to almost 50 dollars . This reduction seems to be very neglible when the citizens of India were expecting a price of almost 10 rupess per litre .

After this reductions the price of petrol from 6 th December 2008 will be 

Current price of petrol now in city of Hyderabad is 51.10 rupees 

Current price of Diesel now in city of Hyderabad is 36.08 rupees

Its being anticipated that the prices of all basic commodities will reduce slightly and there by helping the government in taming the inflation. Another point of concern is that government of india or state government of Andhra Pradesh has reduced the prices of kerosene nor LPG .

RBI's Clarification On ICICI Bank

Reserve Bank of India(RBI) on 30 th september 2008 finally came out with a clarification on the financial conditions of ICICI bank . RBI clarified that the ICICI Bank has sufficient liquidity, including in its current account with the Reserve Bank of India(RBI), to meet the requirements of its depositors. The Reserve Bank of India is monitoring the developments and has arranged to provide adequate cash to ICICI Bank to meet the demands of its customers at its branches/ ATMs.

RBI's Clarification on ICICI Bank's Financial Position

RBI must also ensure that other private bank ATM's should accept ICICI Bank debit and credit cards , which was not happening after spread of this rumour of ICICI bankruptcy and also online transaction should be back to normal .Other important aspect which RBI of India should clarify is the current financial condition of all private banks including ICICI Bank's .

ICICI Bank Bankrupt - Rumour or Truth ????

ICICI Bank is India's second-largest bank with total assets of Rs. 3,997.95 billion as on March 31, 2008 and profit after tax of Rs. 41.58 billion for the year ended March 31, 2008. The Bank has a network of about 1,308 branches and 3,950 ATMs in India and presence in 18 countries. ICICI Bank offers a wide range of banking products and financial services to corporate and retail customers through a variety of delivery channels and through its specialised subsidiaries and affiliates in the areas of investment banking, life and non-life insurance, venture capital and asset management.


Every thing was going great for ICICI bank untill the news of LEHMAN Brothers broke out . At this point of time things started to change for ICICI bank . People started feeling insecure about this bank and rumours started making rounds of ICICI going to be declared bankrupt . To add fuel to this fire people started speculating that the country's second largest bank had been adversely impacted by the stock market crash this week. By 29 th September 2008 news spread across INDIA like a wild fire . Almost all ATM's across INDIA had people waiting in queues to withdraw money , long queues where even found at 3 am in the morning at hyderabad. Moreover people also complained that they were unable to withdraw cash from other private banks using ICICI bank debit or credit cards. Also they were complains of unable to process online transactions . Unconfirmed news states that around 300 crores rupess has been withdrawn after the spread of this news . Despite repeated advertisements on local radio confirming the sound financial health of the bank, depositors could not be comforted.


As a result of current banking sector scenario people are switching back to nationlised public sector bank such as State Bank of India and State Bank of Hyderabad.

Finally RBI has come up with clarification on ICICI bank financial position and assured the customer that they need not panic . Its expected that after this clarification things will improve for ICICI bank and will end all the rumours that were spread across . INDIA : UPA wins TRUST VOTE 2008

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) lead by the congress party have won the trust vote by 19 votes in the Lok Sabha today i.e 22 July 2008 after heated discussion on the nuclear deal .

India Petrol / Diesel prices Hiked (5 june 2008)

The government of India has increased the prices of petrol by 5 rupees and that of diesel by 3 rupees a litre.The hike in the fuel prices will come into effect from 5 th June 2008.

Current fuel price in the city of Hyderabad, India on 26 th September 2008 :


Current price of petrol now in city of Hyderabad is 56.65 rupees

Current price of Diesel now in city of Hyderabad is 38.25 rupees

Moreover price of LPG has also increased by rupees 50 per cylinder, which will now 354.42 per cylinder . Customs duty on petrol and diesel cut by Re 1, from 7.5 per cent to 2.5 per cent and Customs duty on crude cut from 5 per cent to zero.

But the shocker is that Andhra Pradesh government levies 33 % VAT on petrol the highest in INDIA and 22.25 % Vat on diesel being second highest in the INDIA after Gujarat , which turns out to be around whopping 15 rupees (approx.) and 8 rupees (approx.) per each litre of PETROL and DIESEL respectively. Most of left governed states have already reduced taxes so that it can be viable for COMMON MAN .


Lets hope that this does not a spiral effect on inflation which is already sky rocketing .

SSC 2008 Result Update

The wait is almost over for lakhs of students in the Andhra Pradesh including Hyderabad with the announcement that the SSC public exam results for Class X will be out on 15 May 2008. Nearly 13 lakh students took the exams in the year 2008.

The tabulation work is complete and everything is in place for declaration of the results.Results will be announced in the morning of 15 May 2008. It was earlier announced that the results would be out in the first week of May. But it got delayed due to the introduction of bar-coding method in the Social Studies paper and also due to the boycott of evaluation by the teachers demanding resolution of their long-pending demands.
