Telangana Rashtra Samiti -TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao - KCR was arrested on Sunday Telangana's Karimnagar district as he was heading to Medak district to launch a fast unto death demanding separate statehood for Telangana region.
K Chandrasekhara Rao was going to Siddipet town in Medak, which is about 100 km from Hyderabad where he was taken into custody. The Mahabubnagar MP had vowed a fight to the finish by sitting on a fast unto death from 1100 hrs on sunday morning near the Martyrs Memorial at Siddipet.Tension prevailed in Karimnagar district after his arrest as TRS workers came out onto the streets and damaged buses.
In Siddipet, TRS legislator Harish Rao launched a fast unto death after hearing about the arrest of the party chief.Esteemed unversity Osmania university also witnessed massive protests after the arrest of KCR , RAF was to called to controlled the students of osmania university campus. Only one voice was heard from the closed gates of Osmania University - JAI TELANGANA. Many students were injured in the clashes with police, which was observed by people of telangana on all popular telugu channels like Sakshi , TV9 , TV5, INews , HMTV and others .
Telangana Leaders across various parties also supported KCR so that they don't face any backlash from people of Telangana. Leaders of TRS are asking leaders across parties to take up the cause of separate telangana . Even many NRI's are also fully supporting this move taken by KCR. Rebel leaders who earlier were planning to abandon TRS are trying hard to get back in the sailing ship.
Telangana over many past years has very slow growth when compared to other regions of Andhra Pradesh , which provoked the formation of TRS party and rival of the demand for separate statehood.
Entire Telangana region including Hyderabad will remain closed on 30 November on account of Bandh called by people of TRS party which is supported by all political leaders from Telangana.
