How to Apply for Passport at Passport Seva kendra (PSK) under Tatkal or Normal Quota:
Approach 1 :
1. Register as a new user on the Passport India website.
2. Login with the user name and password selected at the time of registering.
3. Fill the web form on the website , as per your requirements.
4. Submit the application
5. Upload the required passport documents
6. Schedule a appointment online.
7. take the print out of the same along with originals and copies of all documents to the passport seva kendra.
8. Reach before time , as you need to take token again even if you have the scheduled time.
Approach 2 :
1. Download the E-Form
2. Register as a new user
3. Login with the credentials.
4. Fill the Passport E-Form and scan then upload it again.
5. Upload the requried passport documents
6. Schedule an appointment
7. take the print out of the same along with originals and copies of all documents to the passport seva kendra.
8. Reach before time , as you wil need to take token again inspite of having the scheduled time.
The PSK will function from 9.50 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days except Saturday and Sunday and holidays.Currently 3 Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) is operational at Hyderabad, address is as follows:
1.Begumpet - Door No: 1-8-368 to 372, Gowra Trinity, Sardar Patel Road, Begumpet, Hyderabad-500016. ( Near Chiran Fort and US Embassy ) .
2.Tolichowki - 8-1-305/306, Beside McDonalds , Anand Silicon Chip, Shaikpet Nala, ToliChowki, Hyderabad-500009.
3. Aditya Trade Centre, Ameerpet, Hyderabad-500038
As per the Passport call center officials , slots for appointments are being released daily at 18:00 IST.

Thanks for this info Hyd Engineer. But your post did not mention about the website to register and to login. Can you also mention the web adress where we can do these things.

Does the slot for booking appointment open at 6 pm? Or is it 7:30 pm? I tried a lot today...however no luck!
it is at 7:30 PM not 6
It opens by 7:300p.m
When do tatkal slots open? is it during the same time or is it diffrent?
Can I pay the fee online? The toll free number (1800-258-1800) is not working.
I have applied for passport online and submitted the form for with i got the ARN number. When applying for slots online i did not get any tatkal slot hence i applied for the normal slot which i got got successfully.
Can i apply for normal slot though my application states tatkal or i need to change the application by going to the PSK in advance
very informative hyd engineer. how to get the slot booked? at what time should we go to psk to get the slot?
I have been trying to get an online booking since the 1st of Dec. No luck. It's one of the hardest things in the world!

Slot booking opens at 4.00 pm daily, login well before, exactly at 4.00 pm click on the book slot option, u have to maintain correct IST online timing. 2 - 3 minutes late u will not get late, click on right time - its easy to book ur slot.
After slot got booked does it show up the second time we login? in my case i booked a slot and when i logged in after an hour it doesn't show up rather asking me to take the appointment again and shows the message "you have not taken an appointment".
